Merkur und Psyche

The amazing sculpture of Merkur and Psyche at the Alte Nationalgalerie in Berlin inspired me to challenge myself and bring these statues to life. Interestingly, I read up the original story of Mercury and Psyche after creating this artwork and it is quite different from what I assumed what was going on in this pose. In my version Mercury turned into the victim of the story.

This is one of those images where I spent hours obsessing over little details to get it just the way I wanted it. I hope you like the result too!
