Spaghettification

In the vicinity of strong gravitational fields such as those of super massive black holes objects will be subject to an effect called "Spaghettification".
The astronauts are stretched to long thin shapes caused by the extreme tidal forces of the black hole, turning this poor rescue attempt into a literal suicide mission.
